Full-height solid boards. No sightlines, no gaps, no neighbors.
★ Why Wood ★
There's a reason cedar has been the standard for a hundred years. It weathers to a silver-gray or holds a stain beautifully. It resists rot and insects on its own, without chemical treatment. And it looks like something a person built, not something a factory extruded.
We hand-select our cedar — checking for straightness, tight grain, and clean faces — and we set every fence on custom heavy-grade 5x5 posts. That combination is what Cedar Mountain became known for, and it's the reason our fences are still standing straight thirty winters later.
★ Styles ★
A cedar fence isn't one thing. Here's what we build most across the Chicago suburbs — and we'll build whatever your yard actually needs.
Full-height solid boards. No sightlines, no gaps, no neighbors.
Alternating boards that look finished from both sides and let the wind through.
Overlapping battens for a heavier, more architectural face.
A gentle curve across each section. Small detail, big difference.
Classic spaced pickets. Defines the yard without closing it in.
Single, double, and driveway gates built to swing true and stay square.
★ Straight Answers ★
Not sure? That's normal. Steve or Jon will walk your yard and tell you straight — even if the answer costs us the sale.
★ What It Costs ★
Most cedar privacy fences in the Chicago suburbs land somewhere in the mid range per linear foot, and the spread is real — height, style, gates, grade, and how many corners your yard has all move the number. We'll give you an honest one after we walk the property. No satellite guesses.
Financing available — spread the cost over time.

Properly built and set — 20 to 30 years is normal. The posts are what fail first on most fences, which is exactly why we use 5x5s.
